tattoo info + policies

Thank you for being here! I aim to be as transparent as possible about my process, so please take the time to read before booking a tattoo.

Booking information

  • You must be 18+ to book a tattoo. I will not tattoo anyone under 18 (even with guardian consent), sun damaged/burnt skin, or people who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

  • Placements I prefer to tattoo include arms, legs, torso (chest, ribs, hips, etc.). I do not tattoo ears, face, hands, feet, or genitals unless otherwise communicated (email me).

  • Pricing estimates will be quoted upon booking, and are subject to change on the appointment day. Final cost is based on size, design complexity, placement, your budget, as well as hours spent drawing/editing. $250 minimum per person per session unless otherwise specified.

    • Minimum and pricing may be higher or lower depending on where I am guesting and cost of living. Current pricing reflects Bay Area and New York rates.

  • Flash can be booked directly via venue.ink. Flash are repeatable (3-5x) unless otherwise specified, and I can always make alternate versions of designs that have been claimed. Any design in color ink can be done in black ink and vice versa.
    Flash are priced per piece and typically cost around $250-$750. Exact price depends on design, size, placement, and color ink.

    • Variations: any major variation of a flash design is considered a custom design.

    • Multiple flash: please submit a custom design request and include all flash you are interested in getting in one session. I will give rough quotes for each. Depending on the designs and your vision, I may offer a discount for a multi-piece session or charge my day rate, which ever is less.

  • Custom design requests must be for my own style (reminiscent of my flash or past work) and not mimicking another artist’s style or designs. I will reject any requests that are not a good fit for me. 
    Custom work is priced per piece with a $250 min per person per session. I charge a $900/day rate for larger projects (up to 6 hours of active tattooing). Once I understand the request, I provide a quote based on total estimated tattooing time to give you an idea. If you have a budget I can accommodate, then I will design with that budget in mind.

    Custom designs will be shared at the appointment or a day before via email. I take feedback, work on the design, and go through the changes in-person during the appointment.

  • Color tattoos may require multiple sessions depending on your skin, how things heal, and the desired amount of saturation or color vibrancy.

    If you are interested in a color ink patch test, please mention this in the booking form. I do not offer color patch tests while guesting outside of the Bay Area due to time constraints.

    Color ink patch tests for Black and Brown folx (those with darker or melanated skin) are always free.

  • Scheduling: If your request aligns, I will send you a few options for appointment dates. You can message me in our appointment chat if none of them work for you and I will send other options.

    • Booking with a friend (1-3 people getting tattooed): If you are booking together with someone else and want your appointments on the same day, each person must submit a separate request and deposit. You can specify that you want your appointments on the same day in the description of the form. There is a 2-3 person limit for booking on the same day depending on the tattoos.

  • Request expiration: Failure to reply or submit a deposit within 7 days may result in your appointment chat being closed so that I can tend to other requests. If this happens and you still want a tattoo, feel free to submit another request! 

Payments

  • Deposit: In order to secure your booking, you must pay a non-refundable deposit via Venue.Ink. This deposit will go toward the final balance for the tattoo. Without a deposit, your appointment is not considered booked.

  • Final payment: The remaining price will be paid upon completion of the tattoo(s), at the studio. The total estimate is quoted upon booking via Venue.Ink, and subject to change on the appointment day depending on any design/size/placement changes.

  • Payment methods I accept: cash or Zelle

  • Tips are optional, but very much appreciated as I get 100% of the tip compared to the price of the tattoo which partially goes to the studio for supplies and booth rental. Reviews on google and yelp are also appreciated!

  • Touch-ups are free for tattoos I’ve done

Reschedules & Cancellations

  • 3 days notice: If you need to reschedule an appointment, please do so at least 72 hours in advance. Your deposit can be transferred once to a rescheduled date with more than 72 hours notice. If you reschedule again after that, you will need to put down a new deposit. 

  • No return on deposit: Your initial booking deposit is non-refundable and will not be returned in the event of a cancellation or no-show.

  • No-shows: I will not reschedule no-shows (not showing up to the appointment without any notice or explanation, or ghosting) to protect my time and practice. Thank you for understanding.

Bringing friends

One additional guest is allowed, and they will have to wait in the front lobby during the tattoo session unless there is a medical need for them to be next to you during the appointment. I love meeting family and friends, but I do my best work when you come alone!

Photos + social media

My tattoo work is shared on @hayu.ink on instagram or hayuink.com. Any photos/videos of clients are shared only on instagram or my website after I receive individual consent. These photos are taken by me or clients and their friends. If at any time you’d like your photo removed from instagram or my website, please email me or message me on venue.
